Morgans is a family-run solicitors practice at the heart of Abergavenny. Whatever your legal need, you will always receive clear, honest advice and genuine personal care.
About Morgans
Morgans has deep roots in this community. The practice traces its origins to Ron Morgan, who began practising in Abergavenny in 1965 as part of the well-known regional firm Granville-West, Chivers and Morgan. Ron went on to build a respected private practice under his own name — Ron Morgan & Co — serving families and businesses across Monmouthshire for decades.
On Ron's death in January 1996, his daughter Sarah Langton and daughter-in-law Alison Morgan continued his legacy by forming Morgans Solicitors. Sarah retired from legal practice in 2006, and Alison has run the firm as its principal ever since — maintaining the same values of personal service and genuine care that Ron established.
The practice has grown carefully over the years. Fred Morgan joined as a trainee in 2013 and qualified in 2020. Abigail Morgan joined in 2017 and is currently completing her qualification through a Graduate Diploma in Law and LPC. Althea-Marie Grant, a highly experienced family law solicitor who practised for many years in London — most recently with Duncan Lewis Solicitors — joined the practice as a locum in summer 2025. In 2025, the firm also welcomed two further trainee solicitors, Grace and Ffion, with the aim of qualifying them into the firm as property and family law solicitors respectively.
"Ron Morgan built a practice embedded in the local community. Our job is to keep earning the trust he established."
Based at Central Chambers on Lion Street, we remain proudly independent and committed to the community we have served since 1965.
